I am delighted to feature the recent paper by Professor David Blake entitled “UK is the Eurozone’s dumping ground”.
David and I, with Barney Reynolds, were co-authors of the recently published book “Managing Euro Risk”, issued through Politeia.
David has built on the book to prove how the Euro also acts as a form of state aid to the countries that use it, and how this has translated into a increasing trade deficit of the UK towards the Eurozone since 1999.
David has proved that this state aid is illegal under World Trade Organisation terms, and that it constitutes dumping.
So much for Mr Barnier’s “level playing field”. Mr Barnier’s negotiating objectives seek to preserve the status quo for the EU: to maintain the UK as a convenient and defenceless dumping ground.
